The past century was marked by the rapid development of Soviet opera art. On the stages of theaters, new opera productions appear, which have begun to demand virtuoso vocal parts from performers. During this period, such well-known opera singers and famous performers, such as Chaliapin, Sobinov and Nezhdanova, are already working.

Along with great singers, not less prominent personalities appear on the opera stages. Such well-known opera singers like Vishnevskaya, Obraztsova, Shumskaya, Arkhipova, Bogacheva and many others are the standard for imitation and nowadays.

Galina Vishnevskaya

The prima donna of those years is considered to be Galina Pavlovna Vishnevskaya. Possessing a beautiful and clear, like a diamond, voice, the singer experienced difficult times, but nevertheless, becoming a professor at the conservatory, she managed to convey her secrets of correct singing to students.

For the singer for a long time remained the nickname "Artist". Her best part was the part of Tatiana (soprano) in the opera Eugene Onegin, after which the singer received the title of the main soloist of the Bolshoi Theater.

Irina Arkhipova

Irina Arkhipova is the most acclaimed opera singer of Russia and according to the number of awards is listed in the celebrity opera record book.

Alexander Baturin

Famous opera singers have also made a significant contribution to the development of Soviet opera art. Alexander Iosifovich Baturin had a magnificent and rich voice. His bass-baritone allowed him to sing the part of Don Basilio in the opera The Barber of Seville.

Baturin perfected his art at the Roman Academy. The singer easily managed to play parts written for both bass and baritone. The singer gained his celebrity thanks to the roles of Prince Igor, bullfighter Escamillo, Demon, Ruslan and Mephistopheles.

Alexander Vedernikov

Alexander Filippovich Vedernikov is a Russian opera singer who passed an internship, performing in performances of the great Italian theater La Scala. On his account almost all the bass parts of the best Russian operas.
