On the music of words and poetry of sounds: reflections

When musicologists said that "philosophical thoughts sound," or "psychological depth of sound," I was at first wondered what they were talking about. How is it - music and suddenly philosophy? Or, especially, psychology, and yes even "deep."

And listening to, for example, songs performed by Yuri Vizbor, who invites you to “fill the heart with music,” I understand it at once. And when he performs to the sounds of his own guitar, "My dear," or "When my beloved entered my house" - honestly, I want to cry. For myself, for my own, as it seems to me, aimlessly lived life, for unfinished business, for unfinished and unheeded songs.

Love all the music, like all women - is impossible! Therefore, I will talk about the "selective" love for some music. I will talk, from my hummock, from the height of that hummock, which I could climb. And it is not as high as the mountaineer Yuri Vizbor loved. My height is only a bump in the swamp.

And you do as you please: you can read and compare your perceptions with the authors, or put this reading matter aside and do something else.

So, at first I did not understand the professional musicologists, who look from his bell tower. They know better. I just feel the sound of many melodies and songs with my soul.

Of course, I don’t like to listen to Vizbor alone, but also Vysotsky, especially his "a little slower, horses ...", our pop singers Lev Leshchenko and Joseph Kobzon, I love listening to Alla Pugacheva’s early songs, her famous "Ferry", "In the seventh row "," Harlequin "," Million Scarlet Roses ". I love sincere, lyrical songs performed by Lyudmila Tolkunova. Romances performed by the famous Hvorostovsky. Mad about the song "Coast" by Malinin.

For some reason, it seems to me that it was the written words that gave birth to music. And not vice versa. And it turned out the music of words. Now, in the modern stage, there are no words or music. Alone guttural cries and stupid words, repeated endless refrain.

But it's not just about old pop songs that most people who were born in the middle of the last century love. I want to present my perception of a mere mortal to the "big music", as it is called, "classical".

Here, the range of interests is complete, and it is impossible to systematize and somehow systematize, sort through, it is impossible. And to anything! And I'm not going to "clean up" in the dispersion of opinions. I will say how I perceive this or that sounding thing, these or other words clothed in music.

I love Imre Kalman's bravura. Especially his "Circus Princess" and "Princess Czardasa". And at the same time, crazy about the lyric music of Richard Strauss "Tales of the Vienna Forest."

At the beginning of his conversation, he wondered how "philosophy" might sound in music. And now I will say that listening to the "Tales of the Vienna Woods", I really feel the smell of pine needles and coolness, the rustling of leaves, the bird's chime. And rustling, and smells, and colors - it turns out, everything can be present in the music!

Have you ever listened to the violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi? Be sure to listen and try to learn in the sounds and snowy winter, and waking nature in the spring, and hot summer, and early warm autumn. You will know them for sure, just listen.

Who does not know the poems of Anna Akhmatova! Composer Sergei Prokofiev wrote romances to some of her poems. He loved the poems of the poetess "The sun filled the room," "You can't confuse true tenderness," "Hello," and as a result, immortal romances appeared. You can personally see for everyone how the music fills the room with the sun. See, another magic is present in the music - sun glare!

Kohl started talking about romances, then I remembered another masterpiece presented to generations by the composer Alexander Alyabyev. This romance is called "Nightingale". Written by his composer in unusual conditions, while in prison. He was accused of beating the landowner, who soon passed away.

Such paradoxes occur in the lives of the great: participation in the war with the French in 1812, the high society of the capital cities of Russia and Europe, music, a circle of close writers ... and a prison. The longing for freedom and the nightingale, a symbol of freedom, filled the soul of the composer, and he could not help splashing out his masterpiece, frozen for centuries in wonderful music.

And how not to admire Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka’s romances "I remember a wonderful moment", "A fire of desire burns in the blood"! Or enjoy the masterpieces of Italian opera performed by Caruso!

And when Oginsky's Polonaise “Farewell to the Motherland” sounds - a lump rolls up to the throat. An acquaintance said that she would write in her will to be buried to the sounds of this inhuman music. Such are the things - great, sad and funny - are close by.

Sometimes a person is having fun - then the song of Duke Rigoletto by the composer Giuseppe Verdi will approach the mood, remember: "The beauty of a beautiful woman is prone to treason ..."

Every man to his own taste. Who likes modern “pops” thundering with drums and cymbals, and who likes ancient romances and waltzes of the last century, which make you think about life, about life. And in fact, these masterpieces were written when the people suffered from hunger in the thirties, when the Stalinist broom destroyed the whole color of the Soviet people.

Again, the paradox of life and creativity. It is in the most difficult years of his life that a man gives out masterpieces, such as the composer Alyabyev, the writer Dostoevsky, the poetess Anna Akhmatova.

Now let me put an end to the chaotic reflections about the music that the people of my generation love.
